Fast Dreams - Race Cars Quilt
This is another quilt that I made to donate at the office. I came up with the pattern off the top of my head after finding the race car fabric and the black and white checker fabric. I cut the race care fabric into columns then made blocks. I cut small flags from the checkered fabric then proceeded to try various layouts until I cam up with a pattern that looked good.
This is the race car fabric I started with.
After cutting the race car fabric into blocks and cutting the flags I tried various configurations.
As you can imagine some would have been difficult to do!
Some where too busy!
This is the layout I chose.
It took a lot of work and care to line up everything!
I chose to go with a plain black border.
I added 16 sets of embroidered crossed racing flags on the border.
It added a nice touch to the border!
Here is the finished quilt. It is single bed sized. The top quilting is just straight line.
The backing and my signature block.
